Comms problem with new MP 2028

We tried to configure our new MP 2028 today but couldn't establish comms- we unsuccessfully tried Horizon 3.2 and 3.4, MP setup wizard and Hyperterminal.

Our old MP 2028 worked with the new wiring harness so the problem must lie elsewhere.
I have contacted MP support but in the meantime, any ideas?

Is this possibly a power problem? Is there any activity in hyperterminal at all?
